Over a year and a half ago I was given the assignment of taking a ’surreal’ image during a photographer group get together. After much thinking, I came up with my concept and called up my sister and a couple of her friends to help out. We met downtown at the historic Hotel Congress and I took these two shots using their super cool bathroom doors. We had to wait a bit until the men’s room cleared out so I could send in Amy and her friends to fulfill my concept. *giggle* I think the images turned out awesome and I printed and framed them for Amy’s bathroom wall as we redecorated right before her big Thanksgiving gathering.

modern bride
I met with Mary up in Tempe to do a quick whimsical modern bride ‘dirty laundry’ shoot. She had a cute little white dress and sassy red heels and a perfect fresh red rose bouquet. This is a great idea of doing something fun and unique before the big wedding day. Being able to capture some personality in a different dress and funky accessories other than those that you may wear to your actual wedding. BE CREATIVE! HAVE FUN! Celebrate this event in your life to the fullest!!
one of America’s bravest
It was such an honor to photograph National Guard soldier Denise before her one year deployment to Afghanistan. She is absolutely gorgeous and so much fun, but she has had to hide herself behind her camouflage uniform for the past several weeks as she trained for her time away. She enjoyed the chance to get all dolled up as much as I enjoyed the time I got to spend with her capturing these images.

When it got dark we moved onto the roof of the historic Hotel Congress…

I hope your year goes by fast, Denise! You will be in our thoughts.
gift time!
I love making my clients cute crafty items involving the photos taken during our sessions together! Here is what I’ve been working on for my summer clients…

fire in the desert
I have been dying to do a photo shoot with fire for a LONG time and this past weekend I finally got my chance! I figured I needed to find myself a firefighter who could hook me up and Andrew was just the guy to ask. Seems if you are a firefighter, you know a lot of other firefighters and you can pretty much get whatever you want just by making a call. Well, everything fell right into line for this shoot, except I wish it wasn’t so darn sunny, but hey, I’m really not complaining, I had a blast! What made this day even better was that Andrew has a drop dead gorgeous wife Amber who was totally up for anything.

Then Amber’s dad drove up in his brand new 2010 fire-cracker orange Camaro

After the fire was put out we moved on to a couple of other locations to finish off the day…

one last shot of their adorable little boy Adin

I want to give a special thank you to fire fighter people Allen and Candace Allcott and Sam Mays and his wife Sandy, I couldn’t have done it without ALL OF YOUR HELP!
be fearless
So the new tagline to my Dirty Laundry brand of photography is ‘be fearless’. I could have picked ‘just do it’ but Nike beat me to it.
Basically I want my clients to not be worried about a little dirt and let me take them to unusual places and create some beautiful, sexy, daring, fearless images. To help me illustrate my point, I had my sis Amy model these shots for me. She always comes in handy when I want to draw on someone! (click here to see the last time I drew on her)
So don’t hide behind your fear of a little dirt…

Be bold, be sexy, BE FEARLESS…

a different kind of hot!
So I mentioned that it was going to be another blazing hot weekend here in Tucson just as we all hoped it would cool down… and it turned out to be HOT in a couple of different ways!! First the temperature was 102 degrees for my shoot of Denise, and Denise herself was HOT! I knew I better post this one quick image to hold her over before she pees her pants.
More to come very soon!

feelin’ hot, hot, hot!
Well, the first day of fall was 5 days ago and you would never know it here in southern Arizona! It was 100 degrees here in Tucson today and will be 104 tomorrow just in time for an afternoon photoshoot that I planned for this weekend because weeks ago I thought that surely it would be cooler outside by now…. no such luck! Oh well, another shoot where I (and my client) will melt like an ice cream cone.

connor
It’s been a few years since I took Connor’s pictures and he is just as handsome as the last time! I love the urban outfits he is sportin’ in these shots. So much fun! And so is his personality, so smart and full of questions!
